Today, people tend to live apart from each other more often than in the past. At some point in their lives, your parents, grandparents or another loved one may need someone to take extra care of them. The National Institute on Aging estimates there are approximately 7 million people who are caring for their loved ones over a long distance. Because Americans have become such a transient culture, adult children are now finding themselves having to deal with an ever-growing crisis: taking on the new-found role as long-distance caregiver.

What is long-distance care giving exactly? Well it could be managing a loved one’s medical bills or records or providing emotional support to a primary caregiver. You may be a bit more involved as to coordinate services such as arranging household help or in home care.
